Fix Microsoft Store errors
The Microsoft Store, although convenient, can sometimes be temperamental. Here is how to easily fix errors such as code 0x800706D9, step by step. Often, only small adjustments are needed to resolve the issue:
Resetting the Store
- Right-click on the Start menu, then click
Apps & features. - Search for
Microsoft Store, then clickAdvanced options. - Scroll down and click
Reset.
You can try this and see if the issue is resolved.
Going further
If this did not fix the issue, open the Command Prompt as administrator:
- In the Start menu, type
cmd. - Right-click on Command Prompt and click
Run as administrator.
- Restarting the
Windows Updateservice (the Store uses this service):- In the Command Prompt window, type
net stop wuauservand pressEnterto stop the Windows Update service. - Still in the Command Prompt, type
net start wuauservand pressEnterto restart the Windows Update service.

Storage Service(which links the Store to UWP [ fr.wikipedia.org ] apps and the hard drive):- In the Command Prompt window, type
net stop storsvcand pressEnterto stop the storage service. - Still in the Command Prompt, type
net start storsvcand pressEnterto restart the storage service.

Try again and see if the issue is resolved. If not, your Windows installation may have a more serious problem.
